Research Interests: My area of expertise is clastic sedimentology with a special interest in the architecture of shallow and deep-water sedimentary systems. My research focuses mainly on the use of outcrops as analogs to siliciclastic depositional systems paying attention to architectural elements, transport and depositional processes. Integration of outcrop and subsurface data helped me understand the studied depositional systems at basin scale. I have been also using the laser scanning technology to investigate clastic sedimentary systems, mainly through building and interpreting 3-D digital virtual outcrops. |
